The Swedish actress Linda Källgren is currently in two different television series: OTAJMAT (SVT) and ZEBRARUMMET (Viaplay) and in the feature film SE UPP FÖR JÖNSSONLIGAN directed by Tomas Alfredson.
She recently appeared in four comedy series: BONUSFAMILJEN (SVT), HELT PERFEKT (Kanal 5) SOMMAREN MED SLÄKTEN (Channel 5) and SJUKT OKLAR (SVTplay) and the thriller series HIDDEN (Viaplay).
Linda played a dramatic role in the Nordic mystery thriller JORDSKOTT – an internationally acclaimed and rating success directed by Daniel Di Grado (SVT) and GÅSMAMMAN (C More). Linda also starred in the short film THE SHOWER, directed by Stefan Constantinescu, where she speaks Romanian.
Linda Källgren has also directed the short film SUSPENSE which was selected to premiere at the Gothenburg film festival.
Her film debut was in Bille August’s A SONG FOR MARTIN a multi-award winning film, including 2 Swedish film academy awards.
On television she recently appeared in the hit Swedish comedy WELCOME TO SWEDEN, now on NBC U.S, hailed by the press, Entertainment weekly and New York post.
She could also be seen in the TV series SOLSIDAN, one of the most successful comedy shows on Swedish television, directed by Ulf Kvensler and Jacob Seth-Fransson.
We have also seen her in more dramatic roles, such as in the crime series OSKYLDIGT DÖMD, where she plays a woman falsely accused of smuggling drugs.
She also starred in Måns Bertha’s 1960s inspired film KULÖRTA LYKTOR, shown on Swedish television and played the lead in Mårten Klingberg’s debut film WITHOUT YOU and in Gila Bergqvist-Ulfung’s THE CONTACT. Linda has also been in several other television series and shorts.
The previous year she starred in three critically acclaimed plays at Moment:Theatre in Stockholm. MYS MED KÄNDIS, TILL JULIA and THE IMAGINARY INVALID directed by Andreas Boonstra.
Shortly afterwards Linda was awarded a Theatre grant 2015 from The Swedish Arts Grants Committee.
Linda is educated at the Stockholm Academy of Dramatic Arts.
There she starred in the productions MAD and A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE (playing the lead-Blanche).
She has acted in several plays at the Stockholm City Theatre including the lead in Strindberg’s MISS JULIE where she was praised for her version of Julie: ”It is with Linda Källgren, in the role of ’Miss Julie’ who gives the play its own portrayal force… She is triumphant in her interpretation pivoting between vulnerable fragility and possessive worth”.
Linda has also been acclaimed for other roles at the same theatre, in Ibsen’s PEER GYNT directed by Katrine Wiedemann and the acclaimed play JÖSSES FLICKOR – ÅTERKOMSTEN, Shakespeare’s RICHARD III, THE PLAYBOY OF THE WESTERN WORLD directed by Thommy Berggren, and THE IDIOT, SUMMERFOLK directed by Alexander Mørk-Eidem.
At Gothenburg City Theatre she played the lead in FIREFACE, where she was praised for her ”wicked rage and exceptional execution”, ”Linda Källgren can grab the audience’s empathy with great effect”… ”she carries the stirring, emotive scenes exquisitely”. At the same theatre, she has acted in ALBERT SPEER directed by Jasenko Selimovic.
Last but not least, Linda has worked in several interesting and innovative plays directed by Andreas Boonstra and Pontus Stenshäll at Moment:Theatre.
